I would not recommend the NX860XL, having owned one for a year and a half. The go 7900 GS graphics card that is used in this laptop does not perform nearly at the level it should. This is also a very fickle system that problems often spring up on. In the year and a half I owned it, I had a motherboard replacement, graphics card replacement (due to severe overheating and bad thermal design), and an lcd panel replacement (due to dead pixels). Also, the computer froze with much more frequency than any normal computer should.

I wish I had talked to you. I bought one reman on ebay a few hours ago because of the reviews I read. Well it is from Gateway so I can send it back with the 15% restocking fee. I gave 820 for it.
