Do not accept replacement parts. Return the machine and buy another.

Wow finally someone with my issue. I got mine Thursday pulled it out of the box and it froze on the setup screen too. I've done a factory resert and a clean install. It always seems to freeze while its loading after loging in. Im going to request gateway to send me a new one. glad to see im not the only one though!

so after fighting with them about sending me a new one(which they will not) i have finally got them to let me send it back so THEY can fix it.
I understand that a harddrive swap is no big deal, but really
if you buy a new car and somthing is wrong with it,do you want them to just ship you the parts so u yourself have to do it or have them fix the problem?
my expectations is that if i buy a product the product should work or i should be able to swap. Even if i tried to send it back for a refund they would still make some money off the restocking fee

Hmm I had no issue making them take mine back. I told them they could send me a new one because this laptop should not be having an issue like this. I would understand letting them repair it if it was year old but my laptop had issues when I first started it. They gave me the location and stuff to drop it off and told me to get in contact with my rep to get a new one sent out. No restocking fee or anything.

ok, im lost... if you just bought it and it didnt work right out the box. you called and they said some nonsense about sending out drives... you call back and tell them to just exchange yours for a new one....how come they said no??? from the time you receive it you have 15 days to return it for your money back or has this policy changed????

and it's probably one of your memory chips.... pull each one out then try to boot.....while your waiting to ship it off for repair.
