Hello Notebookreview,
I've been lingering around these forums for quite some time, but until only now actually posting something.
I bought my p6831 fx laptop at bestbuy almost 2 years ago. Recently I started to get into computer games again, so I've been trying to play for the past few weeks, but around 30minutes into the game my laptop randomly shuts off, without any warning.
Some things needed to know:
1. All parts are stock parts from when I bought my laptop
2. My temps are as follows:
Surfing the web etc: CPU 50, GPU 80,
While playing heroes of newerth (game/20min into it): CPU 65, GPU 101 =/
Note: I live in Sweden so it's pretty cold here right now, so to counter the overheating I open all my windows everytime i play so my room becomes freezing cold making my GPU stay at a steady 80 usually.
Any help would be appreciated.

Have you cleaned the system recently/ever? It sounds like dust of something has clogged up your heatsinks and causing the system to heat up
-
No I haven't.
Actually not one time lol.
Is there a guy on how to open up this specific laptop to clean out the dust etc? -

The FX disassembly guide is stickied to the top of the Gateway forum.
Other than that just some canned air in the vents and along the heat sink will probably make a world of difference for you -
Hopefully it does.
I will have a look.
Thanks for your help!
