    Hi

The notebook that was shipped to me has a large white blotch on the right half of the screen. It's not too noticeable looking straight on but when you e are looking at it from a slight angle it's very distracting.

Does this mean I have to replace the screen or this is a design flaw on the screen?

Oh it works perfectly ok but when it display something black then you can see the white bleeding part. Is it something I should be concern about? You can only see it when the screen display something black like um.. blank screen saver.

    oh you mean this:-

    http://www.pchardwarehelp.com/guides/backlight-bleeding.php

as far as i am aware, all CCFL LCD screens suffer from this (some more than others). General consensus on these forums for p7805u replacements would be to go with a LG model. AU Optronics are pretty good alternatives as well. Samsung models are generally considered to be bad; having said that, I replaced my WXGA screen with a Samsung WUXGA and it's very good.

It does suffer from minor backlight bleeding but the viewing angles are greatly improved in comparsion to my WXGA AU Optronics screen.

Yes I think that is the right term for it, blacklight bleeding. It show a white column on my screen.
I bought the 7801u in Feb from newegg and it have the WUXGA screen on it. Do you think they will replace it for me?

not unless it's got more than 5 dead pixels.....

backlight bleeding is normal. Best option if it is really bothering you is to do a DIY LCD replacement with a better LCD model (eg. LG LP171WU-TLA2) and sell off the old one.

I also have white spot on the screen, right in the middle. But it is not bothering me, because I can see it only from 30-40 degrees angle and only from right side. Here is the picture
