Hey all, I'm trying to play WoW on my p-7805u with the 1440x900 display. I have the latest drivers from Nvidia that aren't betas.

First off, Vista installed my game into public files for some reason instead of the usual world of warcraft folder in program files.

Now when I run this game it is running very choppy. I never get above 14fps and from what I know of this laptop it should be able to handle this game in high settings at around 30fps at least.

Is this simply a 64 bit vista issue or is there something I should be fiddling with on my pc? I'm hoping that someone out there has had this same issue.

Temps are great, no problem at all there. GPU currently running at 43 celsius on high settings.
Setting all video options to the lowest settings available nets me 30-45fps but that just doesn't seem right.

Just to make sure, are you in Power Saver mode?

I doubt it's a driver problem, i'd try reinstalling it into C again. The shadow quality video option also takes up quite a bit of gpu power, mind you.

yeah on my last 7805 it ran at 1980x1200 maxed... guess I'll have to try and reinstall this one, just sucks that I have to go through all the updates again. Turned shadows down all the way and I still max out at 15 fps

With vsync off I can get over 100fps. Using stock nVidia drivers. Most everything is maxed but ground clutter. 1680x1050 screen.

lol yeah, but the 7805 can easily handle it. I play Far Cry 2 on my 7811 with shadows set to high, and that game has really intensive shadows, but I still get around 30 fps.

It's been a week or two since I fiddled with the video options in WoW, but I found that maxing all the settings on my p-7805u left me with quite a bit of stutter. It was beautiful and it said my fps was still at around 30, but I found that ground clutter and shadow detail and in some areas the distance, really caused the stutter. Setting these to medium settings helped a lot. I know this is a lame suggestion, but check your processes to see if you have anything else consuming a lot of resources.
