    ^^
    long time guys, and i'm still using my fx as my main even with a newish 3770/7850 desktop :)

    anyway, like the title says. when i turn on my laptop. it says OS not found, and everytime on the bios settings the OS drive is not included(startup order) and i need to include it everytime(f10 bios, enter set up, "x" to include os drive, f6 to raise it to #1).

    its not my power adapter since with a battery it does the same.

    i have upgraded it to the x9100 2+ years ago and 8gb ram(which btw only 4gb is read, i have 64bit win7)

    thanks in advance!:hi2:

    Either the drive and is about to die (check SMART status) or the CMOS battery is on its last legs and the BIOS forgets changes you made. Does the clock in BIOS show correct date and hour?

    i just used DiskCheckUp and the drive seems fine(self test routine). and the BIOS date and time are up to date.
    btw, from "off" and then i plug in the power adapter, and then it automatically turns on without me pressing anything. and then said problem occurs.

    *and i just updated the bios, after the restart the problem occured again(OS SSD drive was removed from boot order) but the time and date weren't changed

    my bad, man! the bios clock did reset! so its probably is the CMOS battery. repped!

    @treetops

    ps- does the bios date and time also adjust when i adjust the one in win7?

    OK let us know if the CMOS battery replacement works for you because all of our P7805u's will probably need battery replaced soon as it's been 5 years of steady use for most of us.

    One shouldn't wait that long to change the battery. The battery is not expensive to get and but taking apart to get to CMOS one should take care and caution so not to damage anything else while doing it.

    Actually it is behind the network card, should be not too bad to replace if you can get to the plug

    sorry for the really late update:

    i was able to replace the CMOS battery, it was a fairly easy task. i just taped the replacement battery.

    btw, my p7805u has a new issue:
    GPU fan isn't working :| but how to be really sure it's not working?
