On 7811 Win7 install audio worked but no mike. Can't seem to get Conexant installed right.

What would the "mass storage" error be in Device Manager? SD reader works as well as USB slots. Using Win7 generic SD reader driver so maybe it needs the O2micro is need to clear the error?

Anyone have experience or link to someone's post on Win7?

Mass Storage Controller is the media reader used for SD cards. I'm surprised it works without the driver being installed.. mine didn't (But I'm on XP). If it's listed in "Other Devices" there is no driver installed, no "default" SD reader driver. If any driver was successfully installed (Even a wrong driver) it would move from Other Devices to Storage Controllers and simply have the yellow triangle with exclamation point in front of it there. If you installed 7 64-bit you can just use the Vista 64-bit driver from Gateway's website.

AGlobal thanks. Here is a shot of it. I was going to try the O2micro driver but being that it was working I hadn't done it yet. I'll give it a try.

Despite a couple driver issues I am impressed with Win7's "out of the box" working.

It will not install under SD host adapters, I'm pretty sure it will go under Storage controllers as an O2 Micro Media Reader or something like that (Don't remember EXACTLY).

You can go to the properties of the Mass Storage Controller and there shouldn't be any driver installed. Like I said I'm surprised it works, but there's no reason not to install the driver, it will probably need it eventually depending on the cards you are using. Just extract the drivers and manually update the driver, you don't have to go through the whole setup.exe program.

I uninstalled the SD (generic) and installed the O2 Micro. Yep the phantom Mass Storage disappeared.

Now if could get my internal mic working.

Oh, and +rep to Global for the comments.

Downloaded the sound driver again from Gateway and mic now works.
