    Just uninstall the bloatware. If youre not familiar with doing a clean install, just uninstalling is going to be 100% easier and quicker for you. Gateway doesnt put that much bloatware on to begin with. If you need help with what to uninstall, we'll be glad to help you.

    Yes, just remove any applications you don't intend to use and trial software.

    ^^^ Exactly. And DEFINITELY make sure you uninstall Norton. Then download and install Avira Free Edition in its place.

    The blatware isn't as bad as I thought it would be considering this is the first pre installed os I have bought in over 8 years. Ditch norton's, live update, micrsoft office if you have your own version. There are a couple of others but nothing offended me too bad except Norton's.

    People can't figure out how and are intimidated by removing software ... SO THEY WANT TO CLEAN INSTALL THE OS! What on God's Green Earth is wrong with people?

    Maybe it's just me.

    @Syngensmyth:
    +1 Though some people may dislike the Gateway customizations and are unsure of registry editing.

    @warder:
    No, the Vista Logical Disk Manager is fully featured. You can shrink and extend even live volumes.
