This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Remember with xp you could type sndvol32.exe/... and be able to choose wave or stereo out rather than the microphone? this way you could record whatever you heard on the computer, directly.

    I've found a couple possible fixes for this in vista, like looping a 2-ended audio patch cable from the mic to the headphone jack--don't want to do that--, and right-clicking on recording devices and check "show disabled devices" works for some people, but it doesn't appear to work for this machine.

    Anybody find a driver or a work-around for this problem? Much appreciated in advance... = )
