I installed RC1 for windows 7 and I no longer see the HDMI audio out for my laptop. Anyone else run into this, or have any ideas about how to fix it?

    Thanks

why does no one trust me. :p

Just use the driver. Alot of applications still use 32bit drivers... This is one of those situations ;)

Okay I got this to work by downloading the latest 32 bit IDT audio drivers from Gateway's site and then force installing them. Trying to just run the installer didn't work.

Hi, I am struggling with the same issue. Though I previously had it on my Gateway5814u laptop running Vista, I lost the HDMI Playback device (under "Sounds") when I upgraded to Windows 7.

I successfully installed this driver (Conexant HD Audio):

    http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/getFile.asp?ref=DX&id=23598

When I tried running setup the driver you suggested previously, I get the following error.

_ExitError: Error=Device Object not present, restart the system and run setup again

I've restarted a half dozen times - can you please suggest how to install the HDMI driver? I feel like an idiot but can't figure it out. Thanks

Nevermind. I found the setup.exe file in all the files and ran it.

    Works like charm now.
