What are the possible upgrades for this notebook?

    1. Memory - 8gb support? or any better 4gb memory like higher PC ram?
    2. Cpu? can it support 1066fsb or just 800? is the extreme processor better or the Txxx better? How about Temps on the extreme processors, and overclocking capabilities?
    3. Fans, can you buy more powerful cooling fans and install them?
    4. better heatsink?
    5. HDD?

Please reply with as much detail on each category as possible thank you.

I think search would be your friend... ALL this has been answered on this forum... multiple times.

But yes, CPU, HDD, RAM, can all be upgraded. RAM isn't worth upgrading unless you're going to 8 gigs. Faster ram is going to do diddily squat for you.

There is a second hard drive bay if you want to Raid 0 two hard drives or just add more space.

CPU has been a little controversial, but since nobody has been willing to try it since it's pretty obvious it won't work, 800Mhz processors are your limit. I have a T9300 installed on mine, it was a nice jump in performance, but after that, there are the Extreme models from Ebay, like the X7800 and X9000.

I don't know about the fans, I would guess maybe you could, but you would have to find out what speed the fans spin at and then install faster ones... probably wouldn't make a huge difference anyways and would probably make it a whole lot louder.

I also doubt you can fit much more copper in there ;)

    I think that's about it.

Laptop ram is much smaller than desktop ram... don't buy desktop ram.

Upgrading your RAM is all well and fun, but first of all you should look over what you use on your laptop, and see if you even go over 4 gigs of ram. Unless you're using Photoshop with 20+ high res pictures, 30+ tabs in Firefox, and a game running in the background, you might not need more than 4 gigs of RAM.

There are two ram slots, so you'd need 2x 4gb sticks, and those things are EXPENSIVE. Over $300, whereas 4gb (good enough for nowadays) is like $40.

    They're pretty small fans.
