My p7805u is going for 100 degrees C when im gaming at stock clocks and UV

    at .95v

Could having the 9c.17.00 bios have nething to do with not letting me UV?

I read somewhere that u cant UV with the 9c.17.00 bios but i just need to

clarify and hopefully get some insight onto why my laptop is getting this hot.

I also have AC5 applied to gpu and cpu hoping to upgrade to ICD7 later on.

Is it getting to 100 C in the CPU or GPU? Is it something that only started happening since changing your BIOS? What program are you using to UV?

I only tried .17 for about a day before going to .12. I didn't notice any temperature problems, but my computer had all sorts of problems waking from sleep/hibernation in Windows 7. I've also heard a lot of people complain about varying fan speed/noises with .17. I had never heard you aren't able to UV with it, but that would just be another reason not to use it. I'm pretty sure people on the forums here have .17 and are able to UV, though.

I know this is kind of noobie advice, but popping your covers off and giving the vents a blast of air every month or so helps a lot. The CPU and GPU heat transfer systems have a tendency to clog up pretty bad. The other really obvious advice I have is to prop the laptop up on something. My P8400 is at the same voltage as you and my temperatures are absolutely freezing cold (currently idling at 18C after a round of TF2 before typing this).

    Man that is hot.
Try a different driver, it might help.

im on the 9c.17 bios and am undervolted to .9v so the bios cant affecting your undervolting. my gpu under full load hasnt gone over 70c (providing the vents are not blocked.) try checking the fans for blockage because if its getting that hot the fan should be going into turbo fast mode (aka too @!#%ing loud)

i also have no problems waking from sleep in win 7 (dont use hibernation so dont know about that one)

yeah i game :D i dont play aion though but i do play lots of games such as avp, left 4 dead 1 and 2, mount and blade, bioshock 2, gears of war, etc...

gpu rarely goes over 68c. i am undervolted to .9v and run stock clocks (well memory is at 800 instead of the weird 799)

make sure you check the shaft of the fan also because lint and hair can wrap around it slowin the fan down.

i recently ran a 1-hour long stress test on my GPU using OCCT. i started it and i left my home, came back an hour later and my jaw dropped. my gpu temp had hit 105C within 15 min after i left and was at a constant 105C until the stress test finished. but i ran that test many times before and after that hot run and the temps never went past 70-75C. also, is it normal for my T9900 to hit 80C under full stress testing loads? i use ICD7 TIM on everything, cpu, gpu, and gpu mem chiops

Hmm seems if i play my games on windowed mode my temps stay nice a cool. =) but i usually play my games on 1900x 1200

What resolutions do u guys game at? =) ty for the answers guys.

@Yunn my cpu never gets that hot but i dont have a t9900 i have the stock p8400. Did u try reapplying the thermal paste? or maybe undervolting the cpu may help but ive never tried those as i have the p8400 =)

I have a 9800m GS and I run games at my native screen res (1280x800).

But since your screen has a better res, if you lower it to 1280x800 it will look bad (not sharp).

I would copper mod the heatsink:

Also try underclocking the GPU and CPU to get lower temps. 30fps is good enough, you dont need 60.
