I am getting a p7805u soon and I need a recommendation on a cooler for it. I'm guessing some may work better than others if fan ports and vents match up better...

Any coolers known to work well with the P series?

Except that the Enermax one isn't even close to being big enough for a 17" FX laptop.

Does anyone have the CRYO LX? How well does it work, and where is the cheapest place to buy it?

I can see inherent flaw with the design. The grid is still open past the fan blowing air. in either a sucking or pushing configuration this will allow air to circulate off the case and through the fan back to the case. Recirculating the heated air under the cooler is not a way to cool the laptop...........

The nc2000 has been proven again and again. If you used search you'd see that it cools better than the CRYO LX as well as all the other coolers people have compared it to. Its worth the price, looks great, works great, and I am very happy with mine and very glad I ordered it.

There are TONS of threads about this.

You don't have a p7805u... you're comparing apples to oranges.

I have the cryo lx and it works amazing. Although the hub can be a tad difficult at times it serves its purpose. My temps never get above 70c while playing any game on max settings. Newegg would be the cheapest place I know of.

Btw im new to this forum and suck at searching for things, what part of the forum has people testing drivers for 7801u or 7805u? I'm still running on default and it doesn't support physics.

I haven't checked mine yet but others on this forum have posted comparisons between the nc2000 and the cryo lx (They own both) and the nc2000 was cooler.

I purchased my nc2000 for the simple fact that it has been proven to work the best. It works great on my lap, on a table, anywhere. The quality is excellent and like I said before its worth every penny.

althought the nc2000 might cool better. i still think the nzxt is far better because of the usb hub.

the p series only comes with 3 usb ports.

im constantly using 2 to 3 external hdd's plus a mouse. i kinda need that hub.

    thoughts?

So between the nc2000 and the Cyro LX...the nc2000 is cooler but the Cyro has better feature(usb ports)?

I think i will buy one if it can stop the fan from making noises randomly even when idle...gets kind of annoying when im working at my desk with laptop on..

    hmm so which one...

Yea youre right. I didnt look closely at the picture. The 17 inch laptop is is almost 2 inches off the far side. Guess that means it wont be good for my 18 inch laptop either.

How much did your laptop cost?

You're probably going to get a POS cooler for less than $40..

It wouldn't be that hard to custom make one for a lot less, but you have to have the proper stand with enough room for airflow, and you have to be able to mount fans that will flow enough air in the absolute perfect positions. You'll probably end up spending over $40 on that even just to do it right..

And what are u gonna do about power? Use AC powered fans that plug into the wall?

Using the Zalman NC2000 too though I don't see any temp difference from my 15" china made model from Ebay...besides it setting fitting the cooler.
