It appears that forcing constant performance has only been a temporary fix. Now the pc started to crash again in performance 3d mode. It works somewhat in low power mode with clocks set to 250/400. Any thoughts?

From everything I can tell, the 7811fx board is much more related to the P68 boards than the other P78s. Yeah, DDR3 and the 9800GTS. But otherwise, it is still an early revision of the platform for Gateway.

Not even sure if it's a heat related issue or simply crummy GPU bios.

Time to take it apart to perform some cleaning and applying new thermal paste, maybe?

    cheers ...
