i had my laptop shut down today, just doing a quick once over and a quick cleaning before i fired it up for the days use, and i noticed there was 2 parallel lines on the screen. i soon relized that this was from the space key coming in contact with the screen. it isnt noticeable when the computer is powered on. i had the same problem with an env, but i never thought it would happen to a computer. any one have any suggestions on how to prevent further wear/damage to the screen face? thanks!

I kept the protective sheet originally covering the keyboard that came with the computer. I use it any time i transport my laptop anywhere and have seen no damage to the screen. If you dont have that anymore, maybe a thin piece of felt?

I keep a piece of cloth I had from an old Toshiba 17" laptop in mine... protects it pretty well, and it's nice and soft so I use to to clean the laptop from dust as well. You could probably find any softer-type fabric would work well as well though.

Microfiber cloth is the usual solution people employ putting it on the keyboard when closing the lid. It performs double duty of keeping the screen clean and preventing keys from touching it.
