I bought a pc from a girl I worked with, a gateway m-1625 and found a charger with the same wattage and volts but it didnt light up, or turn on..
I took it by a computer place today and he told me that it was a special OCTAGON input for the charger.. my question is.. do you have to have a SPECIAL charger or will the round ones not work?
im trying to find out if I got boned on the 150$ I paid for the gateway laptop..
dont want to order an expensive charger if its not even going to work.. they are like 60$
will the normal round input chargers not charge them, or turn them on? will i need one of these special input chargers to make it work? if so. i dont mind paying for one.. just wnat to make sure
thank you

You should check this charger on this site.
Laptop Chargers | by Targus
I personally own a Targus charger for travel. I have a bulky Gateway FX P-79and with the charger I can lease run light programs and charge my battery with no problems.
The charger comes with different tips. If you find out that the tip you need is not available you can at buy more from their site. Usually the pakage provides enough tips for most of the computers out there.
Note: This charger cannot power up my laptop on heavy gaming sessions. The charger overheats and "drops", that's why I said is good for running light programs. I have the APA70US version. -
It doesn't look special though.............
