On the X7800 chip, the ES (engineer sample) for the 6831FX is compatible right.
I ordered one off of ebay, and got the message from the seller saying that it was an ES chip.
So should I tell him to continue with the transaction?

yes its compatible. ask him to lower the price 10%, if he brings up something in middle of the transaction. remember to get good paste.

So he put up the regular version of CPU-Z.
He did e-mail me right away after i won the bid, and paid him.

well the one i found has lots of feedback and is all 100%. some gateway owners even posted that it worked great with their lappy.
