yea i just had a ridiculously small screwy, and i was fine, mine wasnt that tight. If your having trouble, get a pair of pliers, and grips the screwdrivers grips with it and turn that way, should work.

thanks, narsnail.
i did it before but didnt work. i even noticed that the head of screw was worn off a bit.... ridiculous tight....
I think i need to get a good screwdriver.
My another concern is , does it matter if i press a little bit harder toward the mobo when unscrewing?
btw, anticlockwise the right direction to uninstall, right? -
1) Yes, you do need a good screwdriver. Trying to use the wrong size runs the risk of stripping the screw head to the point of it being stuck there forever.
2) You will need to put pressure down in order to take the screw out.
3) Righty tighty, lefty loosey. So yes, counter-clockwise. -
thanks hep!
will i risk breaking the mobo if i put too much pressure onto the mobo in order to rotate the screwdriver? -
Of course too much pressure can break anything, but I assume it's a fairly small screwdriver. Just don't put all your weight on it - it is okay however to put your arm into it. Sometimes that's what it takes to make a screw budge.

i m really pissed off........ i went to the radioshack and got a 6-pc philips screwdrivers today. but still didnt work.
anyone could help me in this issue?
else i think i had better sell the cpu on ebay quickly... -
What is the problem? The screwdriver is slipping or the screw just won't move?
If slipping - you already stripped it.
If not moving - not putting enough pressure into it (either downwards or circular) -
The screwdriver you use needs to be exactly the right size to do the job. If not it'll slip out of the slot and strip the head. Once you've stripped the head enough the screwdriver cannot be used to remove the screws. You'll need to grip it with a pair of needle nose pliers and twist it, little by little until it's removed.
You can maybe try using some canned air to "dust" it which should cause the screws to shrink a little before you try it again. Other than that, there's really nothing more to add to what others have already said. -
if you try the needle nose pliers you might want to try placing part of a rubberband around the screw and then try the pliers, it should make it easier to turn without slipping.
stucked on unscrewing the heatsink
