with 3DMax I get around 41C-42C max for CPU (T9800 from extremeprocessors) of course I have Zalmon Mod + Undervolting for it. Before I did undervolting I had around 46C to 47C

Nice work on the 3DMark06... Did you overclock the GPU, and what driver are you useing? Thanks.

 We're talking about CPUs here..

I know.. I am looking to find out if the 10k+ score was just from upping the CPU to a T9800, or if the GPU was also tweaked.

 Probably a bit of both.
Definitely a huge part cause of the upgraded CPU.

Yes.. look at the pictures..
It shows the clocks he is using.. -

see personally to me i don't think the extra 300 points is worth the extra $200 for the processor difference. But, then again that's just me. Doesn't seem cost effective for the performance increase.

That's exactly what I think. The only few benefits of a more powerful processor are that it cuts down the processing time for video editing and CPU intensive tasks like that. Apart from that, the points don't mean a thing.

300? After upgrade, I got from 8500 to 9700 ....
I don't really care about 3D Mark scores though, I see real improvement in daily tasks and some games I play.
Of course if you're just doing some web surfing and light tasks, you won't need an upgrade...
