    Here's a current WIP.

Curren time: 40 min. Doing all the pathways for the engraving effect took FOREVER

This is a good idea and all, but how about making them in a native resolution and uploading somewhere for those that want to download and use them?

I am a Photoshop noob, but I gave it a shot. Here is what I came up with-

It is over 2mb, and I can't find anywhere that will let me upload it without scaling it down.

And, Photoshop won't let me save it as a .Jpeg...

Kgann. That looks great! What ver of pshop are you using, I could probably help you get it saved as a jpeg. If its still too big, you can upload to rapidshare.

I've owned Adobe CS3 for a while, as my wife likes to dabble in it. ($1,400 for something to "mess" with!)

When I go to "Save As", .jpeg isn't listed. I tried flattening, and "Export", but still nothing.

I used to use Photoshop when I was in High School, (PS2 I believe), but have only occasionally messed with it lately, and usually just for wallpapers.

Ok. Try to change the image mode to RGB 8/bits per channel, then try to save. Thats usually the culprit. You cant jpeg a 16bit image.

Ah hah! You're a genius, Dook! I haven't done it yet, but I did remember setting it to 300DPi and 16bit.

Well, don't know if it's worth really making a .jpeg for, I'm the only one using it. If you want a .jpeg, let me know!

I'm making another, with kind of a reminiscense to Falcon Northwest's Red Rain design (mine's not QUITE that good). Who would want one like that?

And yes, I realize that the bulb in the center bottom is off sized... I'll get rid of it before final product.

    just got an idea
how about it doesn't have to be just fx stuff
how about any pictures people took and so on...
but they have to be 1400 by 900 or larger to be usable
    good or bad idea?
(i have some good shots i did in my advanced photoshop photography class)

Stealth, good work man! Appreciate the effort! I like the first red droplets best and would sport it on my laptop but its kinda pink and a bit girly looking. Any chance of a darker red one or perhaps orange?
