    thermal pad question

    I had to remove the heatsink from my processor/ graphics card and i had to remove the little foam pad that was inbetween them. do i have to replace that with another pad or is the use of thermal grease (like arctic silver) acceptable.

    AS5 is too thin, you need another pad or to put quite a bit of ICD7 in there.

    what thickness of pad is needed?

    I believe the spongy pads are 1 or 1.1 mm but I could be wrong on this one.
