installed on their 6860's...have you noticed that if you disable the quiet boot option in the bios so that it displays the POS-tests....it says that the T9300 only has 128kb L2 cache...why is this? this is on a 94.29.00 bios.

cpu-z shows it just fine. when i go into the bios, it shows the full amount of L2 cache...only when its running the POS tests does it show that it only has 128kb L2 cache

uninstall the processor from the device manager, reboot, and it should show up as a T9300

I got mine at Newegg for $319.00. Totally worth it for the added performance on my laptop, and REALLY easy to upgrade if you take your time and be careful.

erm...yeah. thats what i meant. if the device manager still shows it as a T5450, uninstall, reboot, and then it should show up as an x7800

i got mine from www.moogr.com for 290 as they were having a "march madness" sale. great buy.

i am quite aware of this, but when doing the power-on-self-tests it labels it as 128kb L2 cache. the bios shows 6144 mb of L2 cache, as does cpu-z. my question is to why when doing the POST it shows up as 128kb L2 cache.

im beginning to think that too...maybe my question would be better answered in the hardware/aftermarket upgrade section.

as for the UV'ing, i love it too...it dropped my x205 down easily a full 10C upon load, and it dropped this one...probably about 15C on load. i have yet to see 50C under load except for ONE time.

my point was that you can disregard silly reporting errors if you make sure the hardware is working as it should.

    thanks for the tip.

btw mine also reports something silly during boot i think its 128k ?

how'd that tip work out for ya? and it sounds like gateway needs to release a new bios for these computers so that it displays the L2 cache properly. i say that the whole gateway forum, collectively as a group, should call tech support and petition for a new BIOS update...oh and a new dvd drive firmware update (stupid wic giving me problems)

    anybody up for it!? :D

EDIT: YAY FOR 2ND REP POINT! i just noticed that after i posted. who dun it!? cuz you made my day!

Are you having trouble installing World In Conflict? or do you mean it sometimes doesnt recognize the dvd ?. if its the latter just go to gamecopyworld.com and download the nodvd exe for it(i never leave any discs in my drives if i can help it ) if its the former you could use imageburn and make a dupe of it on another computer and see if it reads the backup better then the original to atleast get it installed.

i was having a problem with it not loading from my mounted iso of the disc. i had to put the original in every time i wanted to play the game. if this works, +1 for you.

EDIT: IT WORKS! all my shortcuts work, and it works without having the iso mounted. w00t!!! +1 for you
