    Hey I was wondering if a tricked out p6860 with an x9000 cpu at 3ghz will out benchmark a stock 7811. The faster front side bus and newer GPU dont make that much of a difference do they?

    I understand that the 7811 has more potential if upgraded but I am just trying to do a price vs performance analysis on a couple of choices I have.

    thanks

    Yeah youll get higher framerates than the 7811 and will be able to obliterate any game out there.

    X9000 price has actually gone up as it's quite hard to get hold of ES X9000s now.

    I'm surprised no one is pointing out the obvious

    "tricket" :p

    Yeah a "tricked" out 6860 will run circles around the stock 7811, but a tricked out 7811 will run circles around the 6860 as well.

    If i'm calculating everything right E-wrecked got about 9ish% over my 6860(at any given point), and with the exception of the LCD panel there is nothing left that i can upgrade. I have as top of the line as you can get with all of the componets you can change.

    So if your wanting to upgrade just get which ever is cheaper. 9% is pretty big deal, but if its going to cost you 10+% more money then you just have to weigh which is a wiser investment for you

    Yeah I didn't want to say anything. Second stupid typo I made in a title. I really wished I could edit the title once posted. Oh well. Laugh it up.

    I got the 6860fx off tiger direct right before they closed down the deal. I also got the x9000 off ebay for 500 bux after a gift card I had so the entire system cost me 1300 bux. I think its a pretty big bang for my buck.
