I've used the 169 and am currently using the gateway 167.46 driver, but I cannot install the 174 series at all.

After uninstalling the gateway driver and reverting to standard VGA, with no modded INF I get the "cannot install message", but with the modded INF the installer goes all the way through, then says my system has not been changed.

If I try to switch the drivers through the control panel every driver tells me it cannot install because it is incompatible with vista.

The same thing happens if I try keeping the gateway driver and "upgrading" to 174.

I am in fact using the 32 bit vista drivers, so they should be compatible.

    Any ideas?

I had a problem similar to this on my P-172S FX. I eventually found that the 174.60's would install without a modded INF file and they work great!

That did indeed work. I wonder why no others of that series will install. ah, well

I've love a solution to this to get the 174.74 drivers working.
I had it working in Vista 32bit, not a problem.
Cleared out the system, installed 64-bit, I can't get ANY drivers to install except the Gateway ones.

yeah, I'd really like to use the 174.74 drivers too, though the 174.60 are better than nothing, for sure.
