Yes T9300 should work fine on the 6860fx keep an eye out for the ES, its a bit of a gray area..while some say its a good deal since they are available cheaper, others suggest to steer clear of an ES.
Me, personally, I would not go for an ES, but thats just me.

I've been running an ES (Engineering Sample if anyone doesn't know yet) T9300 for almost 6 months now in my 6831FX and I've never had a problem... For what that's worth.

I would personally get "NEW" or I guess used would be fine, if the seller has MULTIPLE legit feedback that's positive.

    Here are some x7800s

I love mine. The Multiplier is unlocked.

    x7800 ebay link

    Edit*

I actually ordered from that guy. He shipped pretty quick. 2 days I think, from order time to accepting it. It was packaged well too. Gave tracking number, everything.

I wouldnt worry much about it.

Retail/OEM/Used/ES are all pretty much about equal when it comes right down to it. Unless its a bum CPU they will all preform the exact same.

Been running my x9000 @3.0gHz for almost a year now and i dont get anything but cool temps and great preformance and its a dastardly ES chip ;)

    Well, what's your price-range?

    In British Pounds is fine.

Well, I really enjoy my x7800 with the unlocked multiplier. It runs 3.0 24/7. It's similar to Kamin's.

If you're set on the t9300, that will be a decent processor too.

The link I posted, he ships internationally and 199 dollars is about 121 British Pounds.

At 2.8 - 3.0, the x7800 will be the better processor, but it will run a little hotter. Not an extreme difference though.

    It has an unlocked multiplier.

The t9300 would be a better overall CPU (by a good bit)

100mHz slower clock, (2.5 vs 2.6) nets you twice the cache, a more efficent archeticture, much lower temps and power draw, supported virtualization.

Even at 2.8 i would still rate the t9300 as better. once you hit the 3gHz mark your probably going to see the extra 500mHz come into play and make up for its lack of other features. But really only when brute force (clock speeds) matter
