    what's your budget and what is your main purpose? multimedia gaming office etc etc. main 2 I'm looking to upgrade to are the t9400 2.53Ghz for $145ish or the T9600 2.8Ghz for $220ish. from extremeprocessor on ebay. I can't check the prices cause I'm on my phone for a few more hours.

    sall good to each is own and I do believe someone has dropped in the x9100 but you won't be able to do any overclocking due to the bios. unless you wanna experiment and use a program.

    What kind of prices have you guys gotten the X9100 for? Some of the lower prices I've seen *have* to be ES chips, which I'd probably be okay with.

    es is engeneering sample, ie the ones that the review sites get and review or supposedly get :p some people claim the es performs a bit cooler than the retail/oem but in the end its just a oem thats a bit cheaper in price. for example the t9600 2.8 go for about $500+ retail where as the es goes for a fraction of the price.

    ES chip is good enough.. trust me. it runs everything perfect.
    i tried t9600, t9800 and x9100 on my p-7805u and they all ran perfect.
    no heating issues or performance issues.
    i decided to keep x9100 but honestly, you are not going to be able to
    tell that much difference from t9600. i mean .26ghz hardly makes any difference. :p

    price i paid
    t9600 =$339 and sold for $340, alot cheaper now.. like $220ish.
    t9800 =$339, still have it
    x9100 = $270, still have it

    i am going to sell t9800 but beware of C0 stepping if you are going to
    get x9100. C0 stepping is going for around $330ish on ebay right now
    but it runs a lot hotter than E0 stepping which is still going for $440ish
    on ebay. i was just lucky to get E0 stepping for $270 cuz one seller was
    desperate to build positive feedback for his ebay business.
