Best will be (coming out soon I beleive) P9700 (if you stay with 25W) it is 2.8Ghz 6MB L2 CACHE

Or if you want to go to 35W(more heat/battery consumption) it would be the T9800 Which i think is 3.0Ghz 6MB L2 CACHE

Personally, P9700 is the way to go

No the T9800 is 2.93Ghz with 6mb cache. The next highest is T9900 at 3.Ghz but its not really mainstream yet.

No, the thermal specification for both the T9900 and the P9700 is 105 C...the same as the original P8400 for that matter....so it doesn't mean more heat...just a bit faster energy consumption on battery....but who play games on battery anyway???

Happy T9900 owner here...it runs fairly "cold" on my P-7811 FX with no undervolting....

Prices for the T9900 will soon come down a bit I suspect...

    Regards

honestly there are no problems with ES's, alot of gateways users on these forums have used and had them with issues what-so-ever.

I think the p9700 is an amazing CPU. 2.8gHz with a 25watt TDP. That ROCKS!

The t9900 is the more powerful CPU (though 206mHz isnt that big of a deal and not noticeable to humans) So if your heavy into CPU intense activities then the t9900 would be a bit better for you.

But seriously. p9700 undervolted would give all the preformance you could want and run as cold as ice. Probably rival the t9300 of last gen for best CPU EVAR! :p

Yeah....its tough....if you have the P8400 installed, and make the jump to a T9800/9900, you'll definitely see the difference......but going from something like a T9600 to a T900, you won't see much of anything.

If you are replacing the CPU, a boost of 500MHz or so will show a decent performance boost.....anything under that is kinda a waste of money.
