    windows 7 32 bits in 64 bits machine

    Hi:
    My Gateway NV53Au shut down and never start well, I change the HDD but couldn´t get the original ver of Windows 7 64 bits, I installed a windows 7 32 bits and don´t feel right, I can´t get archives from internet and my programs can be installed it´s because of the windows 32 bits?

    well bro. the only thing i can tell you is to contact gateway to get a recovery CD. wish i could help more man.. sorry.

    It shouldn't be. There aren't many programs that are coded exclusively in the 64 bit environment that normal people would be using on a laptop.

    If it doesn't "feel" right it might be a bad install or driver incompatibility or something like that. You might want to wipe and redo to see if that is the problem.

    If it still just inst working them you might have to go out and get another copy of Win7 x64 to get everything working together.

    What he said, Archives should be data files openable by the respective program.

    Now there are 64bit only packages for say shareware etc, even driver packages. This means you may need to get the 32bit version. of that asme package. As an example a downloaded HP printer package for 64 bit with OCR etc.............
