alright something weird guys and yes, title says it all...
*important: my 6831fx has been sitting in my kitchen sun room nook with windows open about avg temp in san francisco of around 60F since day 1 of my purchase and was fine till 64bit came into play*
anyhow after installing 64 bit a couple weeks ago on my 6831 i noticed that i would get a random d/c from my network. so i monitored every little thing goin on and my surroundings. my old HP zv5260us laptop didn't experience any problems btw.
i checked my wireless cable modem/router and to see if it was dusty, letting off any odd heat issues/overheating, and checked firmware (and this a linksys modem/router from comcast) to see if anything was outta the norm. everything looks good.
heres the funny thing, whenever i experienced my 6831 wireless d/cing from my network, i'd turn to my old zv5260us and start loading up random pages (cnet, engadget, nbr) and noticed my zv5260us continue to load the pages and then my 6831 would pop the "!" on the network on icon in the toolbar stating "limited connectivity" and connection dropped on the 6831 but the HP was still running.
i think the cause is from my cell phone(s) and the microwave... when a call comes in, the wireless would hang and then drop. same thing would happen when the microwave is in use. I have a small 19inch lcd on the counter and if i get really close it would d/c sometimes. but my HP was still connected. odd...
uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and still continue to experience the problem. what do u guys think? bad wireless? or bad driver? or both? this issue doesnt affect my 5yr old HP, only my 6831.
and this never happened when i had the factory 32bit installed, only since i recently installed 64.
any comments would be appreciated
*wont be able to respond back soon, got friends comming over to celebrate my bday (which was yesterday)
thx guys and sorry for the long story
