I will say that the built in wifi card has better range than my Linksys N USB card for my desktop.

OK, but what router are you using??

If you are using a Linksys N router, w/ the Linksys N usb adapter, you should easily hit 270-300mbps, if you're w/in decent range. And it won't need to even be a dual band router.........

I'm still using a Linksys Wireless G router (WRT54G). I'm guessing there's a new Linksys WRT54N model? or something similar? I keep hearing how amazing N is, as long as it's compatible with with B/G and offers standard WEP(Wii and DS only encryption available), it's time for an upgrade.

the 6860 does have an awesome card, the 4965.

oustanding network performance so far on every standard I have been able to try. So far been on a G and N network and bother were impressive. They really did well with this P-6860 FX machine.
