The user Erikx has a x9000 at 3.6 Ghz and I was curious how it can be so high. I thought the limitations on the 6860 platform was 3.0 Ghz. Am I mistaken? Lastly how can it be clocked so high.. and not overheat?

Throttlestop FTW. also I can overclock higher than the X7xxx because the X9000 is 45nm and runs cooler. -
SomeFormOFhuman has the dumbest username.
There are users even running from 3.8 to 4.2GHz - but anything higher than 3.8-4.0GHz those are unstable for 24/7 continued stress use. A rule of thumb is to understand your computer's cooling capabilities and voltages not more than 1.4500v as a safe offset from 1.5000v, which is in turn, 1.5v the max unrecommended voltage for the X9000 to run and as specified by Intel.
