    T9600

    T9800

    X9100

i've been running prime95 for 3 hours now so far temperature doesn't go beyond 75c on core temp and 70c on hwmonitor or real temp. that's about 5c higher than t9600 or t9800. i am satisfied with this purchase($270 free shipping). :D

edit: after undervolting i've got around 64c max on hwmonitor or real temp and 69c max on core temp during 3 hours of prime 95 test. that's about 6c lower than stock voltage. nice. :D

EDIT 2: i've run into new problem.. i just noticed that x9100 only go up to 2.93ghz if i undervolt it since RM utility doesn't support x.5
so it gets stuck at x11 speed at max so highest speed it can go up to is 2.93ghz. it runs stable but then what's the point of having x9100 over t9800?
i ran 3dmark 06 and i've got exact same score as t9800 cpu score when i undervolted x9100. sux.. maybe i shouldn't undervolt it at all since
p-7805u doesn't let you adjust anything from bio and it seemed to run everything fine even at 75c under full load. honestly, chip was running
at same temperature as t9600 and t9800 for normal use unless i use something that make 100% cpu usage and that's a very rare case for me. besides, even
i do somehow, x9100 ran 3 hours of prime95 test without single error so i don't see much problem there.

An x9100 only scores a 5.7 in Windows?

    Otherwise, looking good!

    yeah... unfortunately it's 5.7.. same as t9800..
    t9800 got 5.7 and t9600 got 5.6.

Can't blame that without overclock it just uses more Watts and some mghz higher...

one thing that bothers me is tzs0 and tzs1 temperature. it goes up to 86c while running prime95 test.. come to think of it t9600 and t9800 had 80-ish c too. i can't remember how high it went up with p-8400 but these temperature seems a little high. of course, it goes nowhere close to that hot during regular use or playing games though. :(

Excuse me for being a bit naive but I'm looking to upgrade the CPU on my 7805 in order to achieve better FPS in Flight Simulator X. Looking at Ebay it appears the X9100 is currently cheaper than either the T9900 or T9800. If I just put the X9100 in without doing anything else will the laptop run just fine or is undervolting required in order to make the laptop run?

:D :D Mines a 6.6 after going back to check. Xarthos, I think your low temps helped you out on your score. Good job.

Yeah, i have the x9100, works fine, but you might have to undervolt the CPU to cool it down. Mine used to downclock itself when reaching 98 degrees C when stress testing, but after undervolting, i get 80 degrees C max! :)

just remember guys that the windows experience test is like the worst test to judge performance. its just basically a table showing you what your computer is capable of not how well it can do those things. for example my 7900gt scored the same as my 8800gt which we all know is pretty much over 2x as powerful as the 7900. ive downclocked my ram and overclocked it but still get pretty much the same numbers.

overclocking can have massive benefits if you know what your doing. for example you could overclock the fsb to match you ram in a 1 to 1 ratio therefore boosting you maximum bandwidth by a pretty significant amount.

Just replaced my T9900 for a X9100 and right now I am overclocked at 3724.0 Mhz and my VID is 1.35. Tested with Crysis for an hour and everything was perfectly stable. Might try to go even higher later today after work ;)

Found that after a few hours of playing Fallout 3 I would occasionally get a BSOD at 3.74 Ghz at 1.35v so I went down to 3.6 at a lower voltage 1.32v. Now the overclocked GPU maxes out at 62 degrees after hours of Fallout 3 and the Cpu at 64 thanks to the brand new ICD7 which I applied when installing the new CPU.
