Hey everyone,
Gigabyte published bios version HFB07 on March 16th. I tend to stay on top of latest bios so I promptly flashed. It was successful, upon entry of bios it added a few options, namely the ability to switch GPU, and run directly from Nvidia GPU.
I left settings defaulted and booted into Windows. No longer is the RTX 3070 usable (Shows as MS Basic Display Adapter). Attemped DDU, reinstalling drivers. No luck.
Attempted reinstalling chipset drivers. No luck.
Attempted reflash of HFB07 drivers. Also, no luck.
Attempted reflashing back to FB03 bios. Shortly after hitting the "Flash" button, it will say Windows is about to log you out and then simply restarts the PC and the flash will not happen.
-Gigabyte has since removed this bios version from their website
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can manually reflash your BIOS on these units using Intel FPT.. I have a completely unlocked BIOS (mainly to re-enable undervolting and overclock memory) on my Aorus 15G XC (which is nearly identical to your Aero 15 XC). I would definitely make a fresh dump of your current BIOS before attempting this. I will not provide instructions because I am not liable for any issues/bricking you have but I have used Intel FPT to dump and re-flash my Aorus 15G over and over without any oddities.

I also upgraded the BIOS on my Gigabyte Aero 15 XC to version HFB07 and have the same problem with the RTX 3070. I just want to go back to BIOS version FB03 so my computer works again. Could you please PM me also?

Hello everyone, i have exactly the same issue... I also just want to go back to the previous BIOS Version. Diversion, please write me a PM too. Thank you a lot.
I also wrote to the Gigabyte support some days ago, but still no responce... Hope this will get fixed soon. -

Nevermind, I can't message people yet.
This link provides everything you need, and a guide on how to revert BIOS from HFB07 to FB03. This is specific to the Gigayte AERO 15 OLED XC. I assume no responsibility for damage caused by BIOS flashing.

I received now an answer from Gigabyte, they told me that i have to send the notebook to them for repair... I am so happy for the workaround, it works perfectly fine, and i can keep my machine. Thanks again!

I am a new owner of a Aorus 15G YC-8FR2450SH, would you mind to point out the way to unlock the bios? Bios updated to version https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/BIOS/nb-bios-aorus15g-vc-win10-64bit-fb07-ec-f001.zip
Objective: set memory clock to 3200 & undervolt the CPU.
Thank you.Last edited: Mar 28, 2021Dengaruc likes this. -
Hmm. this would interest me too... exactly for the same reasons. its a shame that undervolting is not possible anymore.

I've been having the same issue with X7 DT V7 as well. I used their drivers update app to update my BIOS. The BIOS update installed by the application doesn't match my SKU. My SKU was previously identified as X7Y7 in the BIOS. It installed a BIOS update that was supposed to be installed on X7X7 SKU. Fortunately the laptop boots and and runs fine except for one thing. The two SKUs only differ in Graphics card and as such gtx 1080 on X7Y7 and gtx 1070 on X7X7 (at least that's as much as I know) and therefore the SUBSYS_ID on my gtx 1080 is changed to that of a 1070 preventing me from insalling nvidia drivers. I tried installing the correct BIOS update by downloading it from Gigabyte's website but since the current BIOS defines the laptop as X7X7 SKU the moment I try to install the correct X7Y7 BIOS the installer says the device is not supported. Any solutions? Thanks in advance.
