great, hope you be happy with it

Anyone know somewhere where you can buy it in Spain? or, failing that, in Europe with international shipping ?
Thanks -

Thanks, Genki, for the link!
Very nice notebooks. Although i like the design of the p34g v2 better, i also have a look at the p35w v2. Very attractive device with 870m...
Can't wait until we see first reviews of these two laptops...
-
So all these gigabyte laptops have TN panels... not so good
-
Are you sure? The original p34g had an AUO panel (functionally similar to an IPS in terms of viewing angles).
-
wish i was in the exp..
-
in the YT video posted some posts ago the Asian technician says p34g v2 has a TN panel. I don't have any info about p35g v2 or p35k v2 concerning the type of panel, but I guess they share the same technology.
-
Maybe someone knows when the p34g v2 will be released? (Especially in Europe) - end of April, Mid-may? Price will be around 1500$ or 1400€?
-
It's AHVA. It's also only 1.67Kg, not 2kg — contrary to what the rep stated in the video. I would take anything the rep stated in the video with a grain of salt.
-
Anyone know where to order this in the US with the larger battery? Xotic, Gentech and Excalibur only list the smaller battery with dual storage and the 47Wh battery.
-
I'm just waiting for Gentech or Excalibur to get them in. I'm not paying xotic $54 to ship something ground. Probably costs them $8, if that.
-
Any info when is going to be available on amazon? And when coming approximately the V3 with Broadwell 14nm CPU? I might waiting for that.
-
It is on amazon available through xoticpc
-
The rep says that the P34 and P35 have i7 4710 CPUs. The ones already being sold in the US don't have this processor but do you think that when they come to Europe we might get it. Not too sure what the real world difference is but notebookcheck have just released the data for it (the HQ not the MQ). Intel Core i7 4710HQ Notebook Processor - NotebookCheck.net Tech
-
Yup, sorry I meant to say it's an AUO branded AHVA panel. AHVA are a higher-end variation TN, with saturation and viewing angles comparable to true IPS panels.
-
It has arrived \o/
But I'm at work >_>
I will post impressions/video/images in around 10hrs from nowpau1ow likes this. -
I would love to see info on max temps if you are willing

Whats the finish like? Is it grainy or with "lines". Here are 2 pictures (both of the P34G to show you what I mean)
Grainy P34G: http://www.notebookcheck-ru.com/fileadmin/Notebooks/Gigabyte/P34G/touch1.jpg
Lines P34G: http://www.mobilegeeks.de/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/gigabyte-p34g-2.jpg -
Grainy I guess, check here, they're pretty high res (though taken with a phone)

Installing some Steam games at the moment
The fan went up a bit when I did an nVidia update, other than that it's been whisper quiet so far, I expect that will change when I launch the likes of ARMA ^_^pau1ow and onkelosuppo like this. -
Congratz for that new system! It looks like you got the version with mSATA and no HDD - may I ask if you get the larger 63Wh battery as a result ?
-
How is the backlight on yours? With an all black background in a darker room could you take a pic? I also received mine yesterday and there is a fair amount of bleed on one side. It looks like there are 2 points that are applying pressure to the LCD on that side. It is bad enough I am contacting GB about it. Thanks.
-
Yep, bigger battery
As for the lights, I haven't noticed yet, I'll take a pic before I go to bed
I've tried running a few games so far. Maxed out, 1080p, smooth as. I have GTX780s in my desktop so I'm used to fluid frame rates, this is a decent little performer.
Still haven't had the fans going too loudly yet either (yet is the key word), it stays cooler than my Macbook Air did -
So it looks like the finish is granular with no line patterns. Is this correct?
-
Yeah, pretty much like the finish of my Macbook except cheaper feeling
-
From which vendor did you buy the machine? I assume in the US, right? Die you have to pay any extra bugs for the bigger battery? As far as I can tell gentech and xotic don't show the big battery in their customisation process

I bought it from Affordable Laptops in Australia
It says on the box too; only for Australia
It was one of 6 available, not many have them here (if at all) -
Ah ok. However, when I visit affordablelaptops.com.au now, it only states the smaller 48Wh battery... You are sure you've got the bigger one?
Also, I'd be really interested in your how long the battery stays alive.
Thx

Congrats coflash !
Can you post some temps during gaming and tell us if the fans are on full blast when under load?
Older version had a bad fan profile and very loud fans and turned me off on the laptop, I sure hope they fixed that problem. -
Is there something I can accurately use to test temps on a laptop? I haven't recorded temps in years.
I just played Assassin's Creed 3 maxed out for 3 hours. They got loud'ish, I wouldn't call it over the top, about the same as my Macbook when I'd put it under load I suppose.
I haven't checked to see how the battery lasts yet as I've just been testing out games while plugged in -
GREATs your new laptop i hope you can make review
i just want to to check " GigaByte P34G Laptop Really Loud Fan Noise - YouTube "
is it same loud fan as the link i give you ?
second when you said loud do you mean like all laptop when come loud or like loud more than usual
im very concern about it
how is the screen ? you can see from different angle ? -
Hi Coflash. Thank you for sharing your experiences with your new laptop so far!
Would you mind posting a picture of the power adapter (possibly next to the laptop too for scale)? Do you know how heavy the power adapter is?
I am also interested in the battery life for lighter usage (e.g. web browsing over wifi, editing documents, and maybe some programming). However, I would be getting the smaller battery version, so if you have the bigger battery, then the battery life won't be as applicable to me. =)
Thanks! -
you are the first one in the world who have it
-
Here's the backlit keyboard
http://www.coflash.com/stuff/backlit.jpg
and here's the battery size:
http://www.coflash.com/stuff/batterysize.jpg
If you guys can tell me a game that caused the fan noise I can try it, because it didn't happen in The Witcher 2 either, certainly nothing like that video above -
Thanks! That power adapter looks quite large, unfortunately... But I suppose that's not too big of an issue for me.
-
The lines are called brushed aluminum. They take an abrasive compound (e.g. sandpaper), and have a machine rub it back and forth over the smooth aluminum surface in one direction to scratch it up and give it some texture. If you don't like it, well now you know what to call it when telling stores you don't want it.
-
although it is not the most challenging game, maybe you could try Diablo III with maxed out setting at 1080p. Apart from the noise level, the framerates with that game would also interest me. Of course you can basically try any kind of current game, probably well-known shooter such as Battlefield 4, CoD Ghosts would be quite suitable, in order to get the fans running. If they keep quiet after, say, 1 hour of gaming of some of the those games, it is a clear sign that they won't get louder in another scenario as well. Frankly, that would be really amazing.
thanks again -
Thanks for your impressions.
Does the keyboard flex? And how hot do the CPU/GPU get? -
Flex how? I've only ever had Macbooks and an M14x, I can't say I've ever had that problem
They get hot, but the fans do a really nice job of cooling them. When I'm not gaming the fans actually make my legs cold -
I think he meant this: Gigabyte P34G Bad Keyboard Flex: http://youtu.be/nyEoglrbE5w
Inviato dal mio SM-N9005 -
Yep, something like that or this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOH2HffkLg4#t=339 -
Ah. Yeah, it does that if I push it hard enough, not in normal typing though
-
I just played Assassin's Creed IV for an hour and it didn't get very loud
There's a very quiet fan noise, then a normal fan noise, a medium, and that's all I've experienced so far, it doesn't get really loud at all playing the games I've tried -
is the screen reflect ?
-
Great to hear
- is there any information about the release date in other parts of the world, especially Europe?
-
Good to know. Would you mind running something like hwinfo or hwmonitor while gaming to see what temperatures you get? Thanks.
-
speak more about the laptop we would like to hear more
-
No reflection issues here, though I am playing in the dark and it is a matte screen
Temps

GPU Assassin's Creed IV load
I'm not using any sort of cooler, just the box the laptop came in instead of putting it on my lap. CPU temps seem odd, but I've never used that app before, perhaps pay attention to the min/max. The GPUZ ones can be trusted.
It really runs everything I throw at it so there's not much else to say. I'm more than okay with the fan noise, I expected much worse before it arrivedR3d likes this. -
