Hi, I saw from another thread that Intel 320 80GB ssd mSATA with space mod is modifiable for x220. I was wondering what space mod is? Currently there is a sale going on for Intel 320 and rebate that makes a 80GB SSD just about $60.

    SSD:

Can someone confirm whether this is the right SSD for the modifiable mSATA for x220? Thanks!

Those are great deals for intel ssds...tempting...must...resist

As for fitting in the x220, you might not even have to take off the spacer. If you do either use shorter screws or possibly none at all (the stock drive sled grasps the drive) either way the top plastic bracket comes off easily and you don't expose the pcb at all. I prefer the intel design to all the others in this regard.

PS I hate the new trend of reward debit cards, out of the half dozen I've gotten this year it usually takes a couple stores until I find one that their CC machine accepts it. With checks I can deposit online to get funds instantly...and use it towards bills instead just spending.

...damnit, now I feel compelled to upgrade my HTPC to Z68 sooner than planned and install one of these for SRT... oh, how I hate you!

On a side note, does anyone know if it's possible with SRT to use ~32-65gb of a 128 gb SSD as cache and the rest as a dedicated system drive?

Intel 320 SSD is a 2.5" drive, not a mSATA drive. For mSATA you're looking at the 310 or 311 series.
