Hi all, I have read the thread about the processor upgrade of the acer 3680 with a T5300 Core 2 Duo 1.73GHz, but I want a 2GHz core duo processor (if is possible),not for gaming, just to keep this laptop more time with me(because I don't have money to another PC).
My motherboard says: MBAZLO06... (943GML).
I have the same model (acer aspire 3680-2367) and I want to upgrade the HDD (or SSD if is possible and cheap), RAM, CPU, and change the color (if is possible, but this is not necessary), but I don't know what kind of CPU can handle, (because the AS3680-XXX have different versions depending the country), for example: my acer aspire 3680-2367 has a webcam included and broadcom wifi card, and I know about some Acer Aspire 3680 not has webcam / or has a atheros wifi card.
My motherboard says: MBAZLO06... (943GML)
I'm from México and probably some hardware doesn't exist here, (and I'm not able to buy in other countries).
Can you help me, please?
Thanks ;D.
PS: I don't know what type of HDD can handle, (because I don't know what speed/type can handle the HDD), my BIOS version is 1.3216 (I flashed the BIOS myself).
And sorry for my bad English. (if I write some words bad).

Check your HDD, you can probably get any normal SATA 2.5" SSD, unless its not SATA which will be apparent by the 40 pins (IDE)
You can install any socket M processor and it should work fine. This includes almost all of the t5000 series but some of them still are socket P which wont work. Intel.com is NOT a good resource to find socket type, lol. CPU world or whatever is pretty good.
I have this laptop too. I think I'm running a 2ghz t7300. I noticed my motherboard doesn't have a webcam since I upgraded it and there is no connector on the motherboardAlso I found it very strange that it has both mini PCI and mini PCI express. Mine is SATA. I guess it all depends.

Something like this may be suitable, they can send to Mexico(from postage details).

@ellalan
The processor has a good speed, but I can run a risk of overheating?.
PS: Where is the processor?, I put this photo, but I don't know if is the processor.

You don't need to worry about the temps, while you change the CPU, if you clean and apply thermal compound you should be fine, if you read the posts in the link, you'll find some have even OC'd their T7200.

Your CPU will be secured by 4 screws, the one on your picture is IGP but you have to remove those 2 screws as well as 4screws to access the CPU. -

I will put here my result using PC Wizard (to stay secure if T7200 will works). My processor (in openSUSE say: Intel (R) Celeron(R) M CPU 520 @ 1.6 GHz.

PS: Can I wash the plastic parts (like the keyboard) with water and soap?, is too dirty. :/ -
Yes, but make sure they are completely dry before you put them back, don't wash any electrical parts with water, as you said only plastics.
