I was extremely excited when I read reviews about the Audigy2 ZS Notebook that fits into your PCMCIA slot.

I was about to purchase one when I read a certain review, http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/multimedia/display/audigy2-zs.html, that claims this soundcard is not compatible with all PCMCIA controllers. I thought, hell I have an Asus with the latest hardware, I should be fine.

Well I was wrong, guess what, I have the Ricoh R5C476(II) that is on the blacklist of PCMCIA controllers that will not work with or have problems with the Audigy2 ZS Notebook.

FRICK~! What a jip that is. I'm so disappointed. Thing is the author of the review stated he got the soundcard to work with a black listed PCMCIA controller after messing with the PCI latencies using a third-party tool. This is not guaranteed as he could not get the soundcard to work properly on 2 out of 4 laptops he tried it on.

I am freaking pissed off as I was seriously going to go out and buy one of these the moment I had the money, which is very soon.

If anybody has this soundcard please list what kind of PCMCIA controller you have and if you got it to work at it's Advanced setting and not just the Standard mode.

    Cheers,
    Mike
