the title says it all .How do i use a laptop for the first time ?Do i just start using it ,or is it beter to let it alone for awile and keep it charging for like say 10 hours? and after that do you need drain it and than recharge ,and drain again for a few times or just leave it in the socket for ever?

so the question is how to start using a new battery ?
i just want the maximum life from my batt.

just plug the battery in and hit the power button. If it does not turn on, charge it, if it does, well and good.

Simple as that. There's no procedure to using a laptop battery. Just think of it as a normal AA battery...

True, but that doesnt mean you can use the phone while charging. When I first got my notebook, I plug it in, and just used it. Simple. Of course, the battery will starting to die within a year or so, and there is nothing can be done. Unless you keep on using the AC adapter more.

-just leave the laptop plugged in all the time
-or to let the battery drain every week /month ?

The best idea is to use it when needed. If you are using the notebook at home, try to stay connected with the AC adapter and go mobile when needed. I myself (since same notebooks!) have used the BIOS own battery calibrator in order to keep it stable.

Yeah, I totally agreed with Bhatman. Try to stay connected with the AC adapter or if you do the "let the battery drain every week /month", the battery will die faster.
