one of my computer has Pentium Dual Core T2390 1.86Ghz 1MB L2 Cache 533FSB.

i am planning to replace the processor with a Core 2 Duo T6400 or Core 2 Duo T5850

i am confused because the place where im planning to buy Core 2 Duo T6400 says it is Socket M
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz T6400 Laptop CPU SLGJ4 TESTED - eBay (item 290459389189 end time Sep-28-10 11:43:49 PDT)

according to wikipedia socket m is not compatible with socket p

i ran everest and it says that my processor is
    • 479 Ball uFCBGA / 478 Pin uFCPGA

is T6400 and T5850 compatible with my computer?

also i want to know which one is a better buy(faster overall)

    Core 2 Duo T5850 is 2.16Ghz with 2MB L2 Cache 667FSB no SSE4.1 65nm

    Core 2 Duo T6400 is 2.00Ghz with 2MB L2 Cache 800FSB with SSE4.1 45nm

    now here's the deal
    • my computer has no overclocking option
    • the maximum FSB my ram can handle is 667Mhz
    • i will use the processor just to play dota because i only have Intel X3100 and i am running on Software Vertex so faster processor means better FPS(im currently averaging 20-24FPS because of background apps)

The T6400 benchmarks somewhat higher than the T5850. Beyond that, I'm no help at all. Sorry.

thats not a very good deal. but yeah it will work. You should wait longer and look at the marketplace hereon the forums, probably can get a 2+GHz for about 20$
