I'm using the model ADP-65HB BB adapter, now it is only 'semi'-connected with my computer - it only works when I put the plug-in within a certain angle. I'm not sure this problem comes from the plug-in or the socket. Can I solve this problem by myself?

Use a known good AC adapter. If it is still loose, you need to resolder a new jack or buy a new motherboard.

My HP has a similar problem. For some reason, it won't plug when I push it all the way in but does work if it's about 3/4 of the way in. I found a few rubber o-rings and slipped them on the adapter and this seems to be working out well.

The DC jack on the motherboard needs re-soldering, if you are confident you can do this yourself (I have done this on many laptops). If not then your only other options is to find someone who can or send it in for repairs.

Here is what the broken solder joint will look like.
