The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    As some of you might have noticed, a few guides on the forum are getting alittle outdated, the notebook screen/display guide being one of them especially with the introduction of LED and various back lighting technologies and of course 16:9 displays. So I am planning to compile a new guide with updated information. I would like to call on the help of the forum for the following:


    - Links to notebook reviews with thorough comments on the display (think the recent HP8740w review)
    - Links of articles/threads with comparison shots between various displays
    - Detailed screen technology guides/explanations


    This guide's sole purpose will be to provide information for forum visitors and is not an official NBR (frontpage) article, all those who contribute to this article will be mentioned as this will be as much the forum's piece of work as it is mine. If any members would like to contribute to the guide in anyway (in written form or diagrams) please contact me via PM. :)
