    I'm currently OC'ing my 9500m GS:

    Core: 650 Mhz (475 Default)
    Shader: 1300 Mhz (950 Default)
    Memory: 488 Mhz ( 400 Default)

    EDIT:

    now i oc @ 650/1425/500

    result is here (3dmark06) : http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=5115128&postcount=14

    I'm pretty impressed with this result, what do you guys think?

    My question:

    I looked up the original specs of the 9500m GS:

    (On nvidia - Official site- they said the same)

    * 32 Stream Processors.
    * 475 MHz core clock.
    * 950 MHz shader clock.
    * 700 MHz memory clock.
    * Up to 512 MB memory.
    * 128-bit memory interface.
    * 22.4 GB/s memory bandwidth.
    * 7.6 billion texels/s texture fill rate.

    The Memory clock indicates to be 700, though everyone with the 9500m GS has 400 as the default memory clock?

    Will it be safe that i oc my memory to 700? or will that fry my card?

    Please reply :)

    Regards, David

    There are two flavors of the 9500M GS. One of these comes with DDR2 memory and has the memory clock set to 400 MHz while the other one comes with GDDR3 and runs at 700 MHz. You have the DDR2 version (which is much more common) so it is rather unlikely that you will be able to reach the GDDR3 speeds.

    So what would you recommend as my memory clock?

    I know there's no diode to measure the memory's temperature, so I want to be safe..

    Just test for artifacts using ATITool.

    Quite a nice overclock you got there! I couldn't go above 460 memory without artifacting.

    Go as far as you can with the clock speeds, going up 5-10MHz each time, until the video card overheats or you get artifacting in games. Then turn it back 10-15mhz. This has worked for me.

    I can go to 500 memory without artifacting, but i'm sure that will burn it... though when i increase the memory speed, the 3dmark score increases alot..

    So is it pretty safe to oc my memory above 500? (400 default)

    Yeah it is safe to overclock the memory above 500 mhz. In the best of cases it will top out at around 520-550mhz though as DDR2 does suck. I managed to get my old 8600M GT 512mb DDR2 to 505/1325/488 max overclock so congrats if you can push to 500mhz and beyond on the memory. What is your 3Dmark06 score? With the OC above and processor clocked at 3.2ghz I managed 4500 points.

    I managed to reach 500 stable through overnight tesing. 525 gives me some artifacts, I didn't bother testing in between. Overclocking is really luck of the draw since every card is different.

    Quoted for truth. I'm content with my overclock right now, even though I'd love to crank some more bandwidth out of the DDR2 chips. That's what you get for not going for GDDR3, I guess.

    I'd just leave it at
    640 core
    1440 shader
    500 memory

    that should work perfectly.

    Yes that overclock is designated for your 9500M GS.
    And I did not use a guide, but based on other users I identified what was going on. The memory, core, and shader all have a relationship with each other and need to be balanced.

    Thanks for the help guys

    WHOA, 5K on a 9500M GS! That is MONSTROUS!
    What resolution was that?
    (now I've got half a mind to try and crank my own clocks up more)

    1200x800 :D

    But i'm not quite sure i did a good job, because I just recovered from having a BSOD (blue screen of death) saying there was something wrong with my VGA,.. I don't know I didn't bother reading it all.. Anyway:
    I've put my clocks down a little again, I don't want to permanently damage my gpu.. :eek:

    I wonder how my score would be with a +175 shader clock over yours...

    (I might start another topic about this.. :O)

    Haven't benched it using any of those tests. I just ran stability tests to make sure I didn't have artifacts.
