I currently have a Samsung 64GB SSD (that came out 3 years ago) on my Lenovo X200...
I was thinking about getting a 64GB Extreme Pro SD card to supplement extra storage on handy but it's too costly, so I decided to look at 128GB SSD option.
It seems like 470 series is fairly cheap nowadays and stable.
It seems like cheaper ones can be found for around $140 ish.
But is 470 series compatible with my X200?
And would I see some improvements over my current SSD?
Thanks!![]()

Yeah, a current HDD (specifically an XT 750GB Hybrid) will be an improvement over your 3 yr old Samsung 'ssd'.
The 470 128GB upgrade should bring you a nice improvement (assuming that the drive won't be limited to SATA1 or SATA1.5 speeds (SATA2 is hoped for).
Good luck. -
I see new ones for $150-170ish and used ones for little under $100.

Do you have a tablet or is this the non-tablet X200?

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
X200/X201 support full SATA 2 speeds. Only _60/61 were restricted to SATA 1 speeds, which can be fixed with a BIOS flash.
I have an Intel G1 80 GB in my X200 Tablet, works great. If you constantly move around your tablet, I'd advise against any mechanical drives. Samsung 470 are at good price points right now, 256 GB brand new is like 280+ on eBay brand new OEM. -
I have the regular X200 (non-tablet) version.

With Boxing week sales, I bought a 120GB Kingston SSD SATA3 for $210. A little too high for my liking but having waited 1.5 years for one, I finally caved. My x201 won`t be able to take advantage of the sata3 but it was the same price as the Intel 120.

Would 830 series work too? I've been looking for a good deal on 470, but it seems like the price difference isn't too big between 470 and 830...
