Up until now I was going to but Seagate Momentus 5400.3 80GB ATA with it’s “perpendicular record” technology which gives it outstanding performance while keeping it cool and quiet.
However, just now I came upon a review of Samsung M80 which appears not only faster than this Momentus 5400.3 but also is supposed to run even quieter and cooler. The review is available here: http://tinyurl.com/2md2fu (translated from Russian, I presume).

So here I am struggling to decide whether I should go with

    Samsung M80 HM080HC

    80Gb 8mb Cache 9.5mm 5400RPM 2.5"

    http://www.pricegrabber.co.uk/search...g 80gb 2.5

    Details:
    http://www.samsung.com/Products/Hard...es_HM080HC.asp

    Price: 41 GBP

I was unable to find any review on this disk (except the one above). It is newer but on UK’s pricegrabber it is cheaper than M40 series. It’s model number differs slightly from the one in the review I mentioned (HC instead of JC) and I don’t know if it those two share the same performances.

And then there is Seagate Momentus 5400.3 which I can get for 55 GBP but is it worth it?

I need to make this purchase until this Monday so any suggestions would be appreciated.
