[need help]no sound from headphone jack

I am running Windows Vista ultimate on my notebook Acer 5583 with Realtek High Definition Sound Card built-in. I have also installed the latest driver Vista_R184 from Realtek official site. The problem is when I plugged in my headphone on headphone jack, the popup windows showed up and detect that headphone jack was plugged in then the internal speaker was muted, but no sound from headphone.

I have been looking for the solution on internet and still not able to solve the problem. But I come with conclusion like this (correct me if I am wrong).
Some systems have an AC97 compatible front audio header. The Realtek driver, by default, is configured for a High definition Audio (HDA) compatible front header panel. (mine is HDA). To enable the front jack is by disabling front jack panel detection. That option could be found on Realtek HD Audio Manager > Connector Settings menu (folder icon on top right corner) > check "Disable front panel jack detection".
The problem is I couldn't find the Connector Settings menu (folder icon on top right corner) on my Realtek HD Audio Manager.

Is there any other way so I could hear the sound from my headphone?

If your sound card is built-in and you mute the internal speaker, I don't see how you would get sound from your headphones. I don't have my headphones to check to see and I'm still tired this morning, so if anyone wants to correct me or call me an idiot that's fine with me.

 

No, it means that when I plug in my headphone, then the popup windows shows up, detects that a device was plugged in, and the internal speaker is automatically muted. That's the normal procedure should happenned. + the speaker should worked. But mine is not
