    Hey Guys,

I'm trying to prepare all these notebooks on my desk for Windows 7 RTM launching next week, and a few of them could use some more memory. That said, here are my two options:

    Dual-Channel
    (2 x 1GB) DDR2 533MHz 4-4-4-12

    Single-Channel
    (1 x 2GB) DDR2 533MHz 3-3-3-8

    Platforms:
    Intel i945PM (Yonah)
    Intel 945GSE (Atom)

I'm not sure if having a single stick at CL3 will outperform two sticks at CL4 or the other way around. Let me know your thoughts, thanks in advance.

Double the bandwidth versus slightly lower timings.
    That's a no-brainer: go dual-channel.

Performance difference is negligible. I would go with the single stick for future upgrade (or for another $30, just go for 4GB now).
