    I only need to know three basic things...

    How much approxiammately is celereon weaker than this pentium DC?
    Is battery life much affected by this "speedstep" technology?
    Worth 35$ to upgrade?

    The 540 is based on Core 2 so it's no slouch, howevere a single core of the T2330 won't lag far behind at all and it'll be much better for multi-tasking.

    Speedstep significantly affects the battery life of the laptop, always best to get it if you can. Speedstep also affects the heat output.

    Definitely worth $35 to upgrade.

    For a measly 35 bux you get another cpu that is pretty much just as fast. The fact that the pentium has 2 cores makes the decision rather easy if it was up to me.
