As I have done the research toward my next laptop, I have came across the new Samsun X360, which has a 1.4 GHz Intel Core Duo U9400 processor along with a bunch of other goodies.

My main concern stems from my lack of knowledge on the processor itself.

My main tasks on the computer would be web browsing, word processing, excel files, hd-movies, big powerpoint slide shows (150 slides), and perhaps reading pdf files. for games, i don't think i will be playing any on my laptop, if i do, i will only occasionally try games like wc3 and the like.

I am wondering how well the processor will be for my tasks? Poor? Fair? or Superbly adequate?

    Thanks a lot

Everything except HD movies - Just fine.
HD movies - Might be a bit of an issue - the Intel GMA 4500MHD should be able to give an assist on playing things back, provided your codec supports DXVA (DirectX Video Acceleration), like WMV. Heck, if it supports dual-core decoding like CoreAVC or DivX, you should be OK.
The Intel GMA in your system might bottleneck gaming performance, so stick to older less-intensive games.
Or, check Intel's gaming compatibility list yourself - keep in mind that the GMA 4500MHD is about 1.5-2x as fast as the older X3100.

HD movies will be fine too I expect. The Intel X4500 HMD can do it.

Sony is selling a TT with the same CPU and GPU + Bluray.
