    in multithreaded enviroments yes. But you can't just upgrade, you have to buy a new system.

    There should be noticeable difference as the Core duo has a faster FSB and clock speed.

    Yes. You will notice the system as more snappy and responsive, especially when running more than one app.

    But as you were told ^^^, they are not pin-compatible. So you would be looking at a new laptop.

    the P-M and core duo, even using the same number of pins, ONE pin position makes the switching almost impossible...there is a way though...
    (new motherboard or something like that...)

    Well yes of course. If I can find enough reason to warrant selling my VAIO for a Macbook I will do it. :p

    this is indeed very very very very very, soooo tempting....

    But not looking forward to the hefty loss I would take on selling my 3.5 month old VAIO. I knew I should have waited another month till the new Apples came out, I made a big mistake there :(

    why do you want an apple... and why do you need a core duo proccessor? if your gaming go straigt to dell xps is you are typing just keep what you got!
