Do I need a more high powered laptop to be able to backup dvds or is 1.73 ghz dual core and 1gb of ram enough?

Would having say 2gb of ram instead of 1gb or a faster processor make the backup process smoother and less error prone? Or will it not make any difference in terms of backing up dvds?

More RAM will make your computer more responsive during DVD burning. However, if you want more speed, you will most likely have to get a better DVD burner, since that is the component doing all the work.

Thanks everyone. I will definitely look into more ram and a faster burner.
